SINUMERIK – step ahead with coreboot

You may have seen a few activities in the coreboot tree driven by employees of Siemens.
You may have asked yourself what kind of mainboards are maintained by Siemens, how do they look like and what is their exact purpose.
In this talk I want to give everyone who is interested a short overview of the SINUMERIK system, where coreboot is the firmware of choice. I want to show you what a SINUMERIK control unit is able to perform and how it is used at the customer side.
Beside this I want to talk about the process and all the efforts being done internally at Siemens in order to switch from UEFI to coreboot on all the main components in the SINUMERIK portfolio.
