Biography

Paul Menzel is a coreboot user and supporter since 2005 and is active in the coreboot community. Occasionally he even contributes (simple) patches.

After studying mathematical economics (Wirtschaftsmathematik) at the Technical University of Berlin, he worked three years as one of the CEOs at the Web application development company Giant Monkey Software Engineering. After that, he grabbed the chance to work at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. His team administers the compute cluster and the IT of the scientists. While doing so, he tries to get free and auditable firmware in all hardware parts in the institute and the whole Max Planck Society. Comrades have to be found and vendors providing such hardware.
