Kamil Wcisło is an embedded systems engineer with over 6 years of
commercial expertise and aspiring software architect. He received his
master’s degree in Control Automation and Robotics from the Technical
University in Wrocław. Since then, he worked on projects ranging from
small, 8-bit microcontroller based designs to big data center grade
systems. Starting at Novamedia Innovision - a small company dealing with
electronic systems for public communication. During his 3 years there,
he gained knowledge about Linux user space and kernel development in
dynamic and error prone environment of city buses, trams and trains
operating in urban area. During his career he managed to acquire skills
and knowledge concerning development of reliable firmware and designs,
that proved to be hardened and secure. He have also seen some projects
that ultimately failed. He then became especially keen on industry-grade
software engineering with reliable validation. Over 2 years in UEFI
development team at Intel he gained some insights about issues and
quirks coming from dealing with x86 firmware and security. This
knowledge passed to be useful for his latest tasks as a PC Engines
platforms firmware maintainer and embedded software developer and
designer for various customers. Working together with 3mbed, he tries to
push the world of embedded software to more reliable, secure and high
quality state. In his spare time, he loves riding on motorbikes and
outdoor hiking. You can reach him using his private e-mail mek.xgt (at)
